We specialize in non-additive repairs. This includes:

• Surface Contaminants: Removal of fingerprints, grime, light ink/pencil marks, and wax stains.

• Physical Impressions: Significant reduction or removal of surface dents, "claw" marks, edge wear, minor creases and light scratches on holofoil surfaces.

• Structural Issues: Flattening of warped cards and the careful reduction of light creases.

Certain types of damage, such as deep scratches or heavy fibre loss may not be completely eliminated, but we will work to achieve the best possible result.

Since the restoration process is non-additive, we cannot repair missing paper (whitening), deep paper tears, or "inked" edges where color has previously been added.

After you checkout, you will receive an automated email with our shipping instructions. Your trading card(s) are to be shipped to our location, where we will perform the restoration services purchased. Costs to ship the cards to Magma Grade Labs are incurred by you, whereas any shipping costs paid for at checkout cover the return shipping costs from Magma Grade Labs upon completing restoration services.

1. Shipping: You ship your cards to us - we recommend using tracked shipping, with the card placed in a sleeve and in a semi-rigid holder.

2. The Work: We perform the requested services, based on your completed transaction, as well as any specifications outlined. If your submission includes multiple trading cards, please ensure to provide clear instructions as to which service was purchased for each trading card.

3. Completion: Once finished, we send you "After" photos, and your card is securely packaged and shipped back to you, in accordance with the return shipping option selected at checkout.

Grading is subjective to the professional grading company that you select, and therefore we cannot guarantee a specific numerical grade.

The restoration process is designed to improve the sub-grades that hold a card back. For example, removing a surface dent can often jump a card from a PSA 6 to a PSA 8 or 9. Upon completed restoration, you can expect to see a noticeable visual improvement, which frequently translates to a higher professional grade.

A card is a prime candidate for restoration if it has a high "raw" value but is held back by fixable surface issues, such as grime or dents, rather than permanent ones, such as heavy whitening or trimmed edges.

A general rule of thumb would be a raw card worth $30 CAD in its current condition would benefit from restoration.

We are based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and while our main market is Canadian, we accept submissions from all over the world, including the USA, UK, Europe, and Asia.

Please note that international clients are responsible for shipping costs and any applicable customs duties.

Magma Grade Labs is not liable for any lost, delayed, or damaged items, so we recommend that you purchase insurance for its full replacement value when shipping to us.

As trading cards are fragile, we cannot be held liable for pre-existing damage that becomes more apparent during the restoration process. We will always contact you if we believe that there is greater-than-normal risk associated with a specific restoration.

Restoration is the professional process of cleaning and preserving a trading card to return it as close to its original state as possible. This involves removing surface contaminants like dirt, oils, and wax, as well as mechanical techniques to address physical imperfections. Unlike "altering," we do not add ink, trim edges, or use chemicals that damage the card's integrity; we simply reveal the card's best possible version.

Yes! Many of our clients send us cards currently housed in PSA, BGS, or CGC slabs that they feel were under-graded due to surface issues that we can fix.

When completing your transaction, please ensure to add a "Slab Crack" add-on for each card that must be extracted from a slab. We will return the original grade label to you along with your restored raw card for your records.

Please note that cracking a slab is a permanent process. Once a card is removed from its holder, the original grade is voided. While we take every precaution, Magma Grade Labs is not responsible for the card’s previous grade or any microscopic damage that may have been hidden by the original plastic holder.

We stand behind our work and are committed to excellence! To ensure you can see the value we’ve added, every restoration includes photo proof documenting the specific improvements achieved during the process.

If you are still unhappy with the outcome after reviewing the photo proof, please contact us. While we do not offer cash refunds, store credit can be discussed on a case-to-case basis to ensure we make it right.

We do not offer any refunds or credits based on the final numerical grade assigned by third-party grading companies (such as PSA, BGS, CGC, TAG, etc.), as their grading remains a subjective third-party opinion.
